I am a lover of classic design. It’s classic because it’s still around and it still works.

I am going to go through a typical day in the life of me and you see if you can relate to it. I’ve tried this on numerous people and changed their lives a little. I can’t make you totally happy but I can help with those little irritations. Here goes.

4BRV_large.jpg I wake with daylight, can’t help it, just happens. Cup of strong coffee and a slice of toast – first irritation would be the toaster if I had one of those with flashing lights and different colour settings and lots to confuse me, but no I have a Dualit Toaster with big fat slots, a lever to lift and drop the toast and an old fashioned timer that I actually turn to the desired minute setting.

I have an early train to catch to go to a business meeting, a dinner appointment and then on to a hotel for the night.

Picture-Package.jpgWhat to wear – no problem here, just throw on a little black dress and tie a silk scarf at the neck. This will take me through to this evening when I will replace the scarf with a simple string of pearls.

GladstoneBag.jpg I need to pack – no problem here as I get out the Gladstone bag, after all these were designed at a time when people had to take everything but the kitchen sink with them. Bags of space and enough flat space at the base to fold and secure your clothes.

If I want to make notes I use my Moleskine notebook, which has a handy pocket inside the back cover for me to place any business cards that may be handed over to me and any receipts I need to keep. I have an aversion to people who sit on the train and shout “I’M ON THE TRAIN” down their mobile phone, so I don’t use mine in a confined space. Text is quiet remember so I will text if I really have too.

This night it’s French Women Don’t Get Fat, just to make sure I can get into that little black dress the next time.

I’m off to France now to get some vintage items for my new business so my next posting will be from Paris with all things French. Au revoir!
