Be Resort-ful

Posted Monday, January 8, 2007 at 09:38AM

It’s the dead center of winter in ThisNext’s hometown Los Angeles, so I’m cuddling cozy in my flat, sitting sunny and comfy inside, outside the extreme(ly fab) temperature.

A chill 60-something degrees, I’m scheming about being resort-ful, dreaming of rocking S-E-X-y sandals -

Maybe while girling about town this weekend.

So we’ve got it pretty in La La Land. If you’re somewhere less chill and cooler, consider rocking some summer sandals with a pair of tights or thick knit socks, because winter or not, these Christian Louboutin Raffia Wedge Sandals are -

“Perfect this season,” says designer Julie Chaiken

Style them with your little back dress and sleeky chic black tights and vibe like a boss lady, or play exclusive spa in your cozy apartment: spoil yourself with a facial and mani/pedi, then slip on these Jimmy Choo silk sandals and a sarong and lounge, because -

“I am a blasphemous heathen,” says Cranky Biscuit.

Pardon? How’s that, doll? You look like a sweet face to me.

“I look at these shoes and I feel a little closer to heaven,” says Cranky Biscuit.

And the problem is? You’re just admiring how Jimmy Choo has improved on God’s creation, am I wrong? I think it’s perfectly fine that -

“These make we want to jump on a plane to someplace sunny and warm, where sundresses and silk sandals can be worn in February. Available for worship online or at your nearest Saks Fifth Avenue.”

I’ll see you at our temple on the Sabbath, doll, toting soy lattes and some plastic money as our alms and tithes.

What else is your glamazon self ready to sacrifice for?

“I love the retro pinup glamour of this Yves Saint Laurent Lolita Dots Sandal.”

It does vibe so mignon, doll.

“So very high and sexy! The ankle strap and black patent leather trim make it extra flirty, while the wooden platform sole make it unbearably painful,” says Cranky Biscuit. “Such is the sad predicament for the girl who loves the look of high wooden soled shoes, but who actually needs to walk and stand in said shoes.”

At Saks I’ll show you how, you modest momma. Slot me in your calendar, and we’ll have you rocking these skyscraper Dolce & Gabbana wedges, which are “inspired by futuristic designer Ettore Sottsass  [and] realized in steel,” says Frillr.

Meanwhile, maybe you’d dig a more petite heel, a la this United N‏ude Mobius Sandal.  “The ‘United Nude Mobius’ is the original launch product of United Nude, released in March 2003,” says Marloe Stenbohmer.

And it still styles fresh. Tell me more, love.

Conceptually, the shoe is a Mobius band where a single strip is, at once, the sole, heel, foot-bed and upper. With this shoe UN has introduced a produced revolutionary new shoe construction,” says Marloe Stenbohmer. .”This is the way forward within shoe design as it redefines beauty and opens up footwear manufacturing possibilities.”
