Binkytown

screamkatie.jpgThe mid-thirtiyish mother of a beautiful 18-month-old (almost) calls herself “a pacifier” – like the “binky” itself says her blog Binkytown is “on the map, but still quite a few miles away from full-fledged motherhood.”

I’m starting this blog for the same reason lots of women do,” she says. “To capture these extraordinary snapshots of this life that changes so quickly and to try and hang on while the ground is constantly shifting under me. Binkytown is this in-between place where I spent most of the past year; having this strange sensation of having one foot in my life-before-baby and the other in a new place where I was now a mother and literally everything had changed. It wasn’t a bad place to be, but it was a different place, to be sure. These are tales from Binkytown.”

If you’re looking for an insightful and funny set of entries about Momhood, you could do way worse. Her recent multi-parter on her own personal Meet the Parents adventure and her just-plain-funny T-shirt find (ah, the darker side of motherhood!) is enough to make Binkytown a regular stop on the endless tour de blog that is ThisNext.
