Brief Yourself

Posted Saturday, January 6, 2007 at 04:52PM

So your K is all for looking forward towards fashion, so I dig beautiful boys who rock gorgeous accessories like this Etro ostrich duffle. All the same, though I’m a girl named Kristopher -

I get that you fellas don’t want to rock any murses, that you’re probably not feeling those man purses.

Nope, you’d rather rock like a boss man, and I respect that, the same way I respect the cheeky chic, seriously sleek design of this Takumi Shimamura wooden briefcase.

Ladies, take note: “I bought this for my boyfriend for his birthday and after six months of wear and tear it’s still just as beautiful now,” says Oh Sweet Heart.

I believe it, Ms. Sweet Heart. Classic, sleek, rugged, it looks like it’d age well, like it’d work right when your boy plays in jeans, or play right against your boy’s business suit he sports for work, it looks like -

“Everything about this piece is fabulous,” says our own Aunt Beep. “It’s old-school classic yet entirely modern. It’s built for functionality and hard use, but there is something about it that is totally zen.”

Totally. Same as this sleek Salvatore Ferragamo hair-calf briefcase, though possibly ponyskin doesn’t vibe right with the Buddhists.

All luxe and lean lines, it’s a happy, S-E-X-y marriage between form and function, beauty and brains, it’s like a Birkin bag for boys.

Or men.

I mean, men.

“A great investment and always looks great for meetings or traveling,” says Anthony Pisano, who’s a fan. “One must always wear a good bag, and good shoes!”

One absolutely must, doll.

Which is where this Kenneth Cole briefcase also comes into play, whether you’re a boy or girl. “It’s the perfect size and shape, feels light on my shoulder, can withstand being tossed in a corner or getting drenched in cold Chicago rain, and makes a solid impression with any outfit,” says Alex Levit.

And what about this Louis Vuitton Utah Huron briefcase? “Despite its rich history, I’ve never been able to relate well to Louis Vuitton,” says Mensfolio. “I find their products too rigid and structured.”

Sure, but Monsieur Louis has got a certain style, and -

“The Huron (nowadays even men’s bags have names) - a double-handle briefcase from the Utah collection - will make an excellent replacement for my Dunhill Cricket briefcase,” says Mensfolio, “which has served me for the past three years.”

Fab.

Hmm, how’s that, honey? You’re not digging these designer duds, you’d rather tote some power to your power lunch, rock something like -

“The same briefcase used by Alaskan settlers in 1897,” says Philip Leif, “Filson Original briefcases are timeless, chic, and indestructible.”

Like your K?

Had to toss that out there.

Just like this leather messenger bag from Rawlings Leather Goods, which is classic casual, perfect if your 9 to 5 calls for less than a three piece suit. “I love this leather messenger bag, it’s my trusted work horse,” says J Hager.

Tell me more, love.

“I grew up playing baseball and for 10 years, I used the same glove, a Rawlings leather glove. It got beat up, but as it got more beat up it got worked in really well. The same thing happened with this bag. I bought it, and started using it to carry my G4. I’ve had it for about 6 months and since then it has matured in to the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen,” says J Hager.

Just like people should, right? Do -

“People stop me in the streets and compliment me on how awesome the dirty old look and style of my leather messenger bag has become,” says J Hager. “The funny thing is - when I got it new, I got compliments from people on the streets about how much they loved the clean, tan look of the bag. I can’t get enough of this bag, it goes everywhere with me.”
