Cruising for a Bronzing

Nars Bronzing Powder

“I have a friend,” says beauty bloggerina Beauty Snob. “She’s a great girl. She’s beautiful, tall and one of the nicest people you’ll ever meet.”

Fab for you, love. Though there’s no need for your to flatter me like that.

I can take a direct compliment to my second-person.

Tell your K more.

“Heads turn to look at her when she walks down the street,” says Beauty Snob. “There’s just one problem. She’s addicted to tanning.”

Hmm? Pardon me - my porcelain skin just told me we’re not chatting about moi. Go on anyway, gorgeous, and tell me how -

“Yes, it’s February, so tans aren’t natural this time of year. Yet she shows up everyday looking like she just stepped off a plane from a month long vacation in Jamaica,” says Beauty Snob. “Up close her face has an orangish tint to it. It’s weird. And unnatural.”

Nars Blush/Bronzer Duo

And slightly oompah loompah? And -

“And all around gross. I beg you everybody, please, please avoid tanning beds. They’re gross and germ filled and have been proven to cause a certain type of cancer from just moderate tanning. No one is fooled when you show up in February darker than you were in July. They just whisper behind your back about how silly your fake n’ bake looks.”

I believe in La La Land they ask who gave you that S-E-X’y faux glow, because despite the orangey undertones, supposedly -

“Everybody’s skin looks better with a little bit of color added to it.”

I prefer middle-of-the-night black eyeshadow, myself, but -

“When the winter blues set in I turn not to the gross UV rays of a tanning bed, but to my favorite makeup company . Their Bronzing Powder is a brown-based bronzer with a hint of gold shimmer that gives the nicest, most natural glow to your skin. They’re really lightweight so it won’t feel like you’re loading up on makeup if you’re a full face kind of girl. I’m really pale to start with, so I use the Laguna color, which is a lighter brown. If you have a darker shade of skin to start with, go for the Casino. They both have a hint of golden shimmer in them to give you that sun-kissed glow, on even the dreariest of winter days! Bonus points to NARS for also making the powder avaliable paired and packaged with a complementary blush. It takes all the guess work out of matching your makeup!”

Scott Barnes - Original Body Bling

You’re talking about Nars Blush/Bronzer Duo, right, doll? I’ve heard with -

“Just a touch,” says ThisNexter Traci Meyer, “[you] can look sun-kissed without overdoing it.”

Daily in beaded flapper frocks and platform pumps, you know your K’s all about subtlety and rocking practical, so I dig products that hustle doubly hard, like this Scott Barnes Original Body Bling. It’s not just the -

“The best body moisturizer and body bronzer in all of the land,” says says ThisNexter Beauty Banter “Tried and tested in Miami beach and, let me tell you, it was better then the real thing… (an actual tan.) Smells yummy too!”

You smell yummy, too.
