As all the music geeks of the blogosphere begin giddily, obsessively compiling their “best of 2006” top 10 lists, one record sure to be making many an appearance is Gnarls Barkley’s St. Elsewhere. One of those bloggers might be EQ’s Jennifer Eno, whose shopcast deems St. Elsewhere the “hit album of 2006.” ThisNexters sokyuteplusrad and esh are also crazy for Gnarls Barkley, with the latter dubbing the duo’s debut “one of the most talked about not talked about CDs.” Schmiddi points out that while DJ Danger Mouse’s “other albums are all already amazing, this one though adds another dimension, less hiphop and more music.” Staviean, meanwhile, promises that “this album has an amazing amount of soul and funk that will keep your body moving while your soul is grooving.” And, after giving a quick lesson in the evolution of Gnarls Barkley, revolutionarygirl simply raves: “It’s rap, it’s alternative, it’s energetic and intelligent - GET IT!”
