Gift Idea: Smile For The Cute Camera

Posted Tuesday, December 12, 2006 at 04:57PM

Sure the big black digital camera means you’re a serious photog, and the sleek silver number tht slips in your back pocket means you’re way up on the gadget goods.  But what about these cute numbers?

For the happy camper on your list, a pretty pink, Hello Kitty or deer-y number might be just the thing to capture that moment in film.

JuicyNews1 is a do-gooder who recommends the Polaroid Pink Camera Campaign For Breast Cancer.  A line of delightfully pink digital cameras have been designed and created by Polaroid with proceeds benefiting Breast Cancer. At ThisNext we always love a product that gives back, and Polaroid just makes us smile.

Next up in the cute camera dept is a discovery from one of my favorite photography blogs, fototiller. The Deery Lou digital camera is just about the cutest thing I’ve ever seen. It’s a deer, it’s green, it’s the most adorable camera ever. $58 from Urban Outfitters. It may not take prize-winning pictures, but who cares? It’s adorable.

And lastly, what is a gadget without the Hello Kitty stamp of approval? Also available at Urban Outfitters is a happy pink Hello Kitty number perfect for tweens and grown-ups alike. Like ThisNext shopcaster MissRachel says,  ” hello kitty + anything = iloveitcauseitssocute!”

Oh, and speaking of tweens, the kiddies no longer need to be left out of the digital craze.  CkilGore loves the Fisher Price Kid Tough Digital Camera For Boys because it’s a “rugged little camera for rough and tumble kids who like to take pictures,” and Kayzee loves the Fisher Price Kid Tough Camera For Girls, “A digital camera for pre-schoolers. Two eye viewfinder, and color LCD preview screen lets kids instantly see the pictures they’ve taken.”

Cute cameras all around.
