Hirsch Rieslings

Posted Tuesday, June 27, 2006 at 04:45AM

trinkvergnugen.jpgYou’re sick of Sancerre; like, so jaded on California chardonnay; even those lush New Zealand sauvignon blancs leave you a little cold these days. Where’s a self-respecting wine lover to look for fresh ideas in white wine? Basic Juice has the answer: Austria. In particular, these Rieslings from producer Hirsch offer rich, ripe fruity flavors, elevated by the low alcohol content. Add to that a commitment to biodynamic viticulture, and it makes us thirsty enough to forgive them the cutesy labels.

We’re all about what’s new and upcoming, and Basic Juice just may make Austria the new Napa.
