Holiday Party Outfit: At the Flat

It’s you, your BFF, your boy, your brother, a select few friends, and Everyday Italian: 125 Simple and Delicious Recipes, hanging at home for the holidays.
The most fashion analysis you can expect is your baggy-panted brother asking your friend why she can’t afford tights that go over her feet instead of getting cut off at the ankle.
And I’m still not going to recommend rocking flats.
Though I do dig these kind of kitten-heeled Kitara Boots by Miss Sixty.
“These are just flat-out sexy,” says LisaJay, “and that’s always a good thing.”
Ooh la love, you got it, doll.
So are these 7 for all Mankind Colette stretch jeans - I’m continuing my crusade against the skinny jean, but more than my mission, I’d just like you to be able to breath during dinner, love. But if you’re not ready to give up that painted-on denim, try the Cadet skirt in black denim instead. Like the Miss Sixty boots, it’s slightly casual, slightly comfy, but still “just plain hot. I could wear it to work, out to dinner, or to a grueling day of classes,” says Saltimbanca. “The black denim matches just about anything, and the narrow fit is smart and stylish.”
Truly. And if your little brother tells you it makes you look fat, congratulate yourself for rocking so stretchy a sweater, like this Robert Rodriguez crop mohair blend sweater, and hit back.
Or be a lady and sit back, he’s not worth mussing your hair over.
Though if you were rocking this Anthropologie filigree headband, you wouldn’t need worry, plus “the color, the depth and sheen of the material, the patterns… It’s [just] fun,” says our own Not Cot.
Kind of like telling your friend very loudly that your little brother has been crushing on her for ages.
In anticipation of his retaliation, you could also lock down your locks with Anthroplogie’s Lurex-laced, knitted “Mademoiselle” beret. “The knit cap is another easy accessory that will update your look,” and keep it hard for your bro to mess your hair. “You don’t have to spend a million dollars on it,” says WhoWhatWearDaily, “and it can be quite darling for casual outings like catching a film at the Arclight.”
Head gear or not, keep your hair smooth but free, a la MOP Orange Peel Molding Cream. “For those modern organic hair styles,” says Chuck Heckman.
Flatter your face how you know best, love, though since you’re home for the holidays, I might recommend a cleanly chic face.
Even though my family and friends haven’t seen me without my smoky eye and three coats of mascara since I can’t remember.
Either way, get a “peach perfect glow!” - describes Kimberley - via the “Dallas” palette by Benefit, and enjoy that homemade ravioli.
