Holiday Party Outfit: Thanksgiving

Pass on that gray rainbow of a casserole.
No, thanks, for the greasy gravy, especially as Grandma’s dishing second-third-fifteenth-year-in-the-row helpings about Mom’s facial gone bad pre-prom.
Hmm, a roll? Looks safe.
Maybe not.
At least your shoes are cute.
Yep, when your Thanksgiving dinner table of a world weighs heavy with boredom and the stuff of South Beach dieters’ nightmares, peer down under the table and admire your skinniest stiletto, your girl Kate Spade is at your feet.
And unlike your gramp’s reindeer sweater - I’m don’t get it, either - , Kate Spade’s “Giselle” heels are “supersleek and muted … Very sexy for day or evening,” says WNH.
Ooh la love, though ladylike enough for the fam, right, doll?
Just like this Biba tunic dress. “My mother still tells me tales of taking trips down to London to shop in Biba when she was a teen, so I was very excited when the label made a comeback,” says Shiny Gemma. “This dress is fantastic - I can imagine it teamed with opaque black tights, big hot-rollered hair and Roget Vivier flat pumps. Gorgeous!”
Sure is. We’ll skip the flats since we’re already rocking skyhigh pumps and it pains me to suggest less than a four-inch heel, but let’s take Ms. Gemma up on her tights suggestion. Textured tights like J.Crew’s crochet tights are tempting, but your dress’s rich pattern calls for subtler stockings, like these Levante plain wool tights. “Cuddly and warm,” says Julie Fredrickson, “these tights are perfect for a cold winter.”
Or warding off chilly looks from your sister.
Maybe if she plays nice you’ll gift her your Ananas Grande handbag that she’s eying.”I saw this and I’m pretty sure I fell in love,” says Princess. “Yep, it’s definitely love. Super soft black leather. The rings are made of wood, which is a nice alternative to the gold hardware we’ve been seeing lots of for fall.”
Yep, no wonder sis is seeing green.
You can go green-eyed too, though less like a monster and more mod, with MAC Cosmetics “Vex” eye shadow. Lightly line your lids with it, smudge it under; if you’re a brown- or blue-eyed girl it’ll look lovely (if you’ve green peeps, I’m mildly jealous. And you should stick with black or brown eyeshadow). “This shadow is long wearing and very blendable,” says Mu Girl.
Lengthen those lashes with Bobbi Brown Everything mascara (thanks, All About the Pretty), dab on some lip gloss - maybe Bobbi Brown shimmer lip gloss? - and dust on some Nars blush in “Orgasm” - you need something subtle with your emerald eyes. “I love the natural subtleness of this color, despite the unsubtleness of its name,” says Revolutionary Girl. “It came recommended specifically by the Sephora associate when I asked for a natural-looking, fresh blush color.”
It is natural-looking - it’s about the same shade your church-every-Sunday aunt’s cheeks colored when you told her the name of your blush.
