Burton T6
Posted Friday, November 30, 2007 at 11:54PM

Next time you go snow boarding, choose one of this highly advanced decks. The 2008 Gnu Altered genetics MTX Snowboard (right) is made from the best bamboo, aspen, & balsa, plus a very strong Vectran Liquid Crystal Polymer. ( According to Gnu this fiber is 10 times stronger than titanium). The deck also features graphics from Aaron James Draplin. $600. besportier
The second board (left), is the Burton T6; but before I review it, all amateur snow boarders like me, be warned this board is only for the seasoned vets. Why? Because this semi translucent deck is designed for speed and hard turns, and will easily toss you without warning. But for the vets, this board will take you down hill faster than you can say “Hocus pocus”. blog.wired

Bad Celebrity Scents Round-Up
Posted Friday, November 30, 2007 at 11:52PMOne of our fabulous member/ blogger danao has created a hysterical list of bad celebrity perfumes. This list is so funny that I just had to share it with all of you:
Halston Z-14 Mens Cologne & After Shave + Jeff Gordon Signature Wallet: Rev up your engines men and coat your tough and manly body in the scent that takes ladies from zero to sixty in two seconds —-yes, it’s a little more expensive than Axe body spray, but this is ten Ten TEN times more potent. This is a man’s scent with Jeff Gordon’s own blood, sweat and tears in every bottle…plus you get a wallet.
Tim McGraw Gets a Perfume: This isn’t out yet, but when it does come out I think it is going to smell like Miller Lite and BBQ.
Britney Spears perfume: This one smells like a fancy restroom soap and Massengill. It’s ok. I’ll leave Britney alone.

Amimono
Posted Friday, November 30, 2007 at 09:53PM
Amimono is a small Danish Company run by knit designer, Helga Isager. This self described ‘socially conscious knit wear company is dedicated to producing quality knit wear in all attributes; from materials used to designs and the production process. Manufactured in Denmark, Lithuania, and Sri- Lanka, the company ensures the presence of a healthy and safe working environment, and all the employees make a decent income. All the yarns used are made from 100% natural materials and the only use of synthetic fabrics is for durability or aesthetic purposes.
To ensure durability, materials commonly used include: Merino wool, pure silk, pure cotton, alpaca and kid mohair. By the way with very few exceptions, all the yarn is manufactured and environmentally approved in Denmark at the world famous Henrichsens Uldspinderi. The Amimono line is available at select boutiques alongside other renowned designers including Jessica Ogden, costume national and Marc Jacobs. The website has photos from the collection but no prices. Did I mention that, each season, they have an additional line “Amimono Klassik” which consists of hand-knitted designs available as ‘knit-kits’ for customers to put together themselves. (via)

Pock-It...Pocket-it instead of Post-it note
Posted Friday, November 30, 2007 at 08:54PMThose sticky ‘post-it’ notes help but sometimes you can lose them since the adhesive is only applied one side of the note. Personally I stopped using post-it notes because they ruined my clothes, Since they don’t always stick on all surfaces I would keep them in my pocket and forget about them, come laundry day…. @$%*&#%. Time to move on now — Designers Pu Tai, Ayda Analagan, and Paul Blease have created “Pock-it.”
Pock-it notes have the same idea like the post-it note, but with a little twist. On the Pock-it, three sides of the note stick to a surface forming a little pocket. Now you can write a note and put contents in the little bag to convey a more meaningful message. Ideal for demanding/ requesting something from co-workers, or rent from your roommate. ‘Put the rent here’. ‘Put the memos here.’

Extraordinary Living
Posted Friday, November 30, 2007 at 04:36PM
A Chair with many faces: This chair (above) was supposedly designed to fit your mood change, for example; sometimes you might feel like being close to the those you love, other times you might feel that you need space, read magazines/ books or even relax and watch Prison Break. Designed by Justin Porcano, the main purpose of the chair is to enable you to create whatever environment you want around you. You can arrange it as: a love seat with two end tables, two separate seats with a table in between, or even turn the chairs so they can face each other. I ‘will keep you posted about availability and pricing.(via)
Rotating Recyclable Chair: Chair 777 is a new concept by Die Fabrik. By the way Die Fabrik means ‘Factory’ in German. Made from 100% recyclable cardboard, the chair can be rotated in three positions depending on the mood of the user: as a lounge chair, a stool, and as a regular upright chair. At only 20kgs, the chair is very portable and will save you some space. Once the chair has out-lived it’s life span, it can be recycled.

2nd Puberty with Philips Norelco
Posted Thursday, November 29, 2007 at 09:36PM
Now don’t go thinking that I need a nose trimmer because I don’t. I have a perfect nose that has just enough tiny hairs to filter out germs and stuff. Now the men in my family — I don’t know if I can say the same for them.
You see kids, when you get older you start getting hair in weird places. Especially dudes; Dad’s get hair in their ears and nose. It’s just plain gross.
Gift Dad with a nose trimmer from Philips but make sure you show him the video on the website too. That way Dad will be able to laugh about the gift you are giving him. Trust me on this one, because if you don’t show him the video he will get really mad at you and you will suffer the consequences.
The nose trimmer is small, sleek and pain-free so it will make Dad feel like he has a cutting edge grooming product without feeling embarrassed about getting older. I recommend this product as a stocking stuff or an add on gift with some fancy gels and creams like these from Clinique.
Buy the Philips Norelco Nose and Ear Trimmer at $14.99 at Amazon

Alight Kitchen
Posted Thursday, November 29, 2007 at 04:04PMAwarded at the 2007 Incheon International Design Competition, this innovative kitchen concept dubbed ‘Alight Kitchen’ was designed by Altera Design Studio, as a project whose main focus is dealing with global shortages of clean water, food and resources in general. The kitchen is designed to minimize waste materials, and also make you aware of how much food you eat.
- “Only ready-made food and beverages are consumed in sheet-metal packaging so people will be conscious about what and how much they eat.
- Food and beverages packs will be kept inside the cooling unit of the system. It only allows storage of 3 days’ worth of food.
- A Smart oven warms up the food in groups to minimize how often it’s used. It arranges the ideal time and temperature for the packs by reading their barcodes.
- There are 4 hollow plates located on the main dining table. Each of them can rotate on its center-axis so you can eat on the either side of the plate. The center of the table houses a small flatware station.
- The integrated dishwasher conserves water by filtering and reusing previous wash water.
- All plates are stored underneath in their own compartments.” via

Crazy Stripe” LX 50 Vespas
Posted Thursday, November 29, 2007 at 03:22PM
Designed by Gap, this Limited Edition ‘Crazy Stripes’ LX50 Vespa scooter from Piaggo, might be what you need with the sky rocketing gas prices. Dipped in colors from Gap’s latest fall/winter collection of sweaters, scarves, gloves, leg warmers and baby clothes, the scooter has a summer feel. What’s even crazier about the already crazy ‘Crazy stripes’ LX50 vespas, is the price $5,999.00, $2,800 more than the standard price for a regular vespa which is $3,199.
Lately I have been spotting old ladies everywhere with the 50cc vespa scooters. What is interesting though, is the fact that most old ladies don’t wear helmets. It would be cool if the ‘Crazy Stripes’ LX50 Vespa comes with a matching helmet for my grandma, for added safety. By the way the Vespa looks ‘Prep’ to me, not ‘crazy’.

Pin Up Lip Balm
Posted Wednesday, November 28, 2007 at 07:56PM
These can easily be called the cutest lip glosses in the world. Who knew something so simple could bring me so much pleasure. These pin up inspired lip glosses come in a variety of flavors and each flavor has a different pin up design on the package. Every design/ flavor combination is so adorable … it made it hard to choose which one I wanted.
Here is the rundown with degrees of cuteness (100 degrees is the hottest):
- Mocha: Has a pin up girl in a fur coat, very retro chic … 98 Degrees
- Citrus: This tin of balm has a raunchy girl in a bikini doing a back bend…. 76 Degrees
- Grape: This one almost got a 100 from me because the pin up is a can-can girl, but grape isn’t my favorite flavor … 88 Degrees
- Peppermint: This is the on I chose because it as a girl riding a polar bear … 100 Degrees
- Lemonade: Great flavor and an adorable little country girl pin up… 100 Degrees
- Raspberry: Sultry and sexy…. 92 Degrees
- Vanilla: I am a sucker for vanilla flavoring but the girl was a bit too vanilla for me … 68 Degrees
- Coconut: Who doesn’t go nuts for coconut? This one gets a 89 Degree rating.
My silly rating system aside, these are great lip balms. Not sticky at all and they don’t reek. The size is right too, just slip it into your pocket or purse and you are off.

Hendrick's Gin
Posted Wednesday, November 28, 2007 at 06:40PM
I am a gin girl at heart. I have found myself drinking vodka a bit more recently, but right now it’s all about the gin.
I remember the first time I was introduced to Hendrick’s. I was in a martini bar in West Hollywood and I asked the bartender to shake me up a cucumber martini. When he told me they don’t make that, I wanted to splash my drink in his face. Until I realized I had no drink to splash. The bartender quickly redeemed himself by telling me about a gin that tasted like cucumber (it was Hendricks). So I said “Ok, sure … I will give it a try.”
I can’t say I remember how the gin tasted that night. But I do remember that I had a great time.
Flash-forward to this week when a bottle of Hendricks arrived at my door (isn’t shipping wonderful) and I was ready to give this gin a second try.
Delicious.
Not only is this gin delicious, it tastes like no other gin I have ever laid lips on. I also love the website because it has tons of interesting cocktail ideas. Including one called the Barbie:
How to make The Barbie:
INGREDIENTS
2 oz. Hendrick’s Gin
¾ oz. Rhubarb Puree
½ oz. Vanilla Syrup
½ oz. Gooseberry Syrup
PREPARATION
Method: Shake and strain into a martini glass. Garnish: with a gooseberry.
WHY IT WORKS?
“Gooseberry, rhubarb and vanilla work really well with the complex botanicals of Hendrick’s”

Fashion Kitty's Favorite Things
Posted Monday, November 26, 2007 at 12:46PMScrew Oprah and her favorite things … Just kidding Oprah, I love you. But seriously, other people can have favorite things too. And since I am the second coming of Oprah (haha). Here are a few of MY favorite things because Oprah isn’t the only gal around with favorite things.
See more of my Fashion Kitty’s Favorites Things list at ThisNext.
EMU Australia Women’s Hip Boot I now own these in black and I can’t take the off! Seriously, I want 2 more pair; one in chestnut and one in red (just to be crazy). These are BETTER than Uggs. They are less Ugg-ly and are so insanely comfortable. Get yourself a pair for the cold winters months.
L.A.M.B. Fragrance by Gwen Stefani This stuff is incredible. It also happens to be my secret man magnet potion, so men … Watch out! Gwen has also added a solid perfume and lotion to the collection that I will need to get my hands on too. I think I finally found my signature scent.
