Who Is David Myers?
Posted Wednesday, October 31, 2007 at 11:19AM
Named Food & Wine’s “Best New Chef of 2003” and Angeleno’s “Chef of the Year” in 2004, David Myers is the man behind Boule, every Hollywood skinny bitch’s fav place to shop desserts. Featured in O, US Weekly, and OK, Boule is just part of David’s French foodie empire, which is umbrellaed under the Food Art Group, Inc. From the name alone you vibe David’s passion for food as an art form—so we had to play Q&A with Monsieur Myers and find out how we can get tastefully plump this holiday season.
TN: What are some of the best desserts for entertaining during the holidays?
DM: I like the classics that include seasonal ingredients like chestnuts and blood orange. Individual-size are more elegant so individual and tarts like the ones we offer at Boule are the way to go. The blood orange custard is insane!

2007 Dutch Design Week & Multi-Functional Chair
Posted Tuesday, October 30, 2007 at 09:16PM
Here are some stuff from the just concluded Dutch Design Week, (October 20th-28th). The show which was held in Eindhoven, a city located in the province of Noord-Brabant in the south of the Netherlands, had various design objects on display. From product design, to graphic design, to spatial design (definition) brand design, textile design, and fashion design were all represented in venues across the city. For a more in-depth look at the futuristic things on display at the show, visit Mocoloco
Multi-functional furniture is becoming popular, especially if you live in a studio apartment, or the basement of your mom’s house. This chair/table allows you to sit comfortably and create more room in your limited space. It comes with an optional open lower area for your favorite magazine and other reading materials. Other options include color and open or solid base; choose between the black and white hues. Designed by Alexander Kneller, I’m not sure if its a concept or available for sale.

Who Is Lyndsey Hamilton?
Posted Monday, October 29, 2007 at 10:22AM
Lyndsey Hamilton is an event designer and, naturally, owner of Lyndsey Hamilton Events, which has been featured in glossies like New York Magazine, Cosmopolitan, Bazaar, Marie Claire, Elle, and The Knot. With extensive experience creating memorable events that combine her brand of innovative design—like a bride’s bouquet of spring greens—with her client’s personal vision—getting hitched in a classical cathedral—, Lyndsey and her team know how to party. ThisNext played Q&A with Lyndsey to find out how to create the perfect mood for an event, and what tiny touches will make your next holiday party perfect.
TN: What’s something that will perk up any event, any season?
LH: Great lighting to reflect the mood of the event.
TN: What do you suggest for clients planning a big party during the holiday season?
LH: Come up with a fun, different theme. “Holidays in Havana” or “Christmas in Cuba.” Go retro with signature cocktails, specialty or regional food and salsa music. We have all been to a dozen holiday parties that are all the same.
TN: What’s your favorite product to use for a holiday party?
LH: Vintage postcard invitations.
TN: Biggest response a design of yours has received from consumers?
LH: We are as much about production as design. But, we did an amazing safari-themed event that everyone thought was fabulous.

Holiday cheer or office pest?
Posted Wednesday, October 24, 2007 at 02:02PMIt’s always fun to add a little holiday cheer to your office. Maybe it’s a little bowl of candy canes or maybe it’s something a bit more fun like this USB drumming snowman. As if people drumming wasn’t annoying enough ;)
But seriously, how fun would it be to have this on your desk and every time that girl that who stole your yogurt walks by you just let that drummer drum. This little gadget is absolutely worth the $20 price tag.

Who Is Diane Vadino?
Posted Wednesday, October 24, 2007 at 11:37AM
Fashion blogger Diane Vadino is the author of new novel Smart Girls Like Me: think an evil boss at an online fashion mag, think “The Dot-Com Devil Wears Prada.” Before Diane was writing about fashion editors and blogging about boots, Diane interviewed the Beastie Boys and Metallica for music mag Spin, covered Milano fashion week with pigeon Italian for Surface magazine, and worked with beauty bible Allure. These days, when Vandino’s not typing for her blog BunnyShop, her words on film, design, and art are in Nylon and ID — and here, in ThisNext, as we dish about her new novel, favorites for fall fashion, and what’s really hiding under her bed.
TN: Tell us about what your book.
DV: I’m so bad at answering this question, but: It’s really about a girl who’d be perfectly happy if nothing, in the world, ever changed one bit, but who’s sort of forced to grow up. See? I’m awful at it. It’s set at the millennium. There’s a tiara! And a wedding dress. And a stripper outfit, used at a wedding. And models! Though they don’t have a speaking role. Really, it’s about how what for me was always pretty much the most important relationship in my life evolved. Best friends are tricky, because they’re like family, but they’re not, really — and it’s that tension, that prospective sense of loss, that is what I think can make that relationship so special, but also so stressful, too.

Posted Wednesday, October 24, 2007 at 10:19AM

Classic sneaker bones become the foundation for best -in-class leathers and fine textiles from around the globe. More info and pics here>>

Burberry Studs
Posted Monday, October 22, 2007 at 11:40PMIs Burberry ditching their plaid signature look for studs? Who knows. Anyway, ladies for those of you who are still enjoying the outdoors, (beaches, and swimming pools…….) burberry has unleashed a grey bikini and a mini sundress based on their stud inspired collection. The Stud Trim Bikini (above) $350.00, is an anthracite triangle-shaped bikini with a stud embellished trim. The studs are located under the bust, and the waistband of the bottoms, giving the bikini a matching/detailed look.

The sundress is an anthracite bandeau mini-sundress with studs on the hemline $325.00. With a gathering into an empire line, the dress easily slips-on making it ideal for a bikini cover dress, and it would match perfectly with the Stud Trim Bikini. Other burberry pieces with the studs detail include: trench coats, shoes, umbrellas, hand bags/clutches…..more pics here>>
