“Leave the 180-degree turns, the frantic grasping for new ideas, to other designers,” writes Nicole Phelps of Vogue’s Style.com.

Hmm, did I catch a sly diss on Marc-y Marc Jacobs’ latest, love? Fine by me, though - despite past chunky heels and frumpy volume catty chatting otherwise - he is a boy genius.

Emphasis on the “boy”?

So let’s talk strong men, and how -

“Ralph Lauren delivered one more in a line of self-assured collections today,” writes Nicole, “and, even better, proved he still has the power to surprise.”

Like with these Ralph Lauren Collection violet suede clogs? If your K rocked clogs she’d don these, she digs the -

” Red, red and more red…” says ThisNexter John_and_Rose. “So Christmas, so cheery.”

You  mean V Day, doll? Red for hearts, red is the color of how -

“I loooove these red suede clogs with brown leather trim, contrast stitching, front tie on vamp, shearling lining and studded platform sole,” continues ThisNexter John_and_Rose. “2 1/2” stacked heel and made in Italy. Love them…”

Maybe you should ask them to be your Valentine. Don’t wait until next year, absence makes the heart forget, those clogs won’t remember how -

“Returning home from last season’s jaunt across North Africa and India, [Ralph Lauren’s fall 2007] urbane show began with suits—the first was long and lean,” reports  Nicole, “with a closely fitting, cropped double-breasted jacket and a skirt in the slim, three-quarter length that now looks fresh again. From there, he took the season’s knit-dressing trend in a new direction. First, classic cardigan coats in hand-knit metallic tweeds cut a reliably elegant figure. Then -“

Yes? Go on, gorgeous, don’t be a tease.  Tell me -

”- and here’s the surprise - he whipped up strappy little cashmere dresses with short, kicky skirts. They had real youth appeal,” writes Nicole. “The nipped-waist shape was echoed elsewhere in the collection - in slim turtlenecks worn with dirndls; in a chocolate flight jacket and matching flaring skirt; and in a couple of great-looking coats. These were slim on top and full to the knee, and the best one came in the antiqued gold that was the only flash amid the blacks, browns, and grays.”

Antiqued gold, hmm? I love a little shiny shiny, like this Ralph Lauren Polo alligator cuff. Who said Ralphie is all plaids and polos? Rock a dash of S-E-X with that cashmere turtleneck frock, be so mignon, both -

“Stylish and haute!” says ThisNexter Haute Momma Stuff.

Perfect for girling about town after hustling hard, because -

“In Lauren’s world, after-eight dressing will always call for something sinuous,” writes Nicole. “This season, that meant a pair of exit-making black gowns, one with a giant bow at the lower back and another with an organza ruffle from nape to ankle. Along with a daring, plunge-front dress in burnished gold lamé, they were surefire hits.”

You got it, doll.
