Night Watch, Day Watch, Wanted???

Timur Bekmambetov’s blockbuster “Wanted” grossed $51 million in theaters during its first weekend. Starring Angelina Jolie, Morgan Freeman, James McAvoy, and Common, it follows an organization of highly-skilled assassins that can perform extraordinary feats like curving bullets and shooting targets from absurdly long distances. What most people don’t know, however, is that a lot of Wanted’s visuals, cinematography, story and even actors were borrowed from Bekmambetov’s Night Watch Trilogy (Night Watch, Day Watch, and Dusk Watch) - a series of films centered around the modern-day clash between the supernatural forces of Light and Dark. “Night Watch” - the highest grossing film in Russian cinematic history - and “Day Watch” were released but unspecified complications have put “Dusk Watch” on hold. According to Bekmambetov:
“[Wanted] is my Dusk Watch for now, because it’s really the same chance, a different story, but the same genre. Unfortunately I don’t know when Dusk Watch will happen… Let’s say this [Wanted] is Dusk Watch.”
One of the similarities: a Loom of Fate in “Wanted”, and a Chalk of Destiny in the “Night Watch” Trilogy. Here’s the Day Watch trailer:
