Ooh La Love: All Things French

So Ms. Marie has got me on a French kick.
Let’s play Parisian, ladies, starting with something for the gentlemen.
The French House monks purse for men is chicer than your Italiano Gucci belt bag. “A stylish yet unusual way for you men to carry you loose change around hooks to your belt,” agrees Di Overton. “The same purse the French Monks used to carry the alms money.”
You could also rock more obviously chic, but lesser known, un-Louis luxe, via Goyard St. Louis PM tote. “I love this bag,” says Metro.Pop editor Brandi Woods Thanariti. “We are going to use it as our diaper bag.”
Prefer to tote more quirky, more casual? Check this French duck canvas tote. “French ducks make this tote adorable, and the bright yellow color is uber-trendy for fall,” says Omiru. “But most of all, I just like talking animals.”
Moi, aussi.
Though turning men into animals sounds interesting as well. “Editions de Parfums .com’s Musc Ravageur is my main nighttime scent… Note: Don’t wear it if you don’t want men hungrily sniffing your neck!,” says editor Heather Haber. “About 6 years ago, I got sick of smelling Angel everywhere. I found this at a beauty giveaway at the magazine where I used to work, and I’ve used it ever since. It’s spicy and mysterious, but you won’t smell it everywhere. I am almost through my small bottle, and have a large one to use next.”
Maybe when you’re through with that, you can rock Ormonde Jayne. “Their perfume has been voted best of 2006 by Wallpaper Magazine and now it’s online,” reports Di Overton. “This Paris perfume house is also on Bond Street in the UK.”
I’m always up for Givenchy’s “Organza,” but more often than not I’d rather just breath clean. Mistral handcrafted French soaps seem the right way to smell naturally lovely: “They are made according to a three hundred year old tradition of purity and excellence,” says John Polinsky. “Mistral soaps are made with the finest oils of olive, palm or coconut combined with special skin softening African shea butter known for its protective and rejuvenating qualities. I have tried all of them - my favorite is South Seas - they are absolutely the best!”
Not if you ask Kimberly Kradel: “The lemony scent of Savon de Marseille with Crushed Local Flowers soap is my all-time favorite, but I also love lavender. If I close my eyes I can picture walking through the market in Aix.”
How about strolling Canal Street in Manhattan, wishing you where sightseeing Chanel’s Paris boutique?
That’s the vibe this DIY crochet “Chanel” purse gives me.
But that’s just moi.

J'aime ce tee!
GK Chesterton: “The poets have been mysteriously silent on the subject of cheese.”
Voila: www.tastingtoeternity.com. This book is a poetic view of 30 of the best loved French cheeses with an additional two odes to cheese. Recipes, wine pairing, three short stories and an educational section complete the book.
From a hectic life in New York City to the peace and glories of the French countryside lead me to be the co-founder of www.fromages.com. Ten years later with the words of Pierre Androuet hammering on my brain:
“Cheese is the soul of the soil. It is the purest and most romantic link between humans and the earth.”
I took pen and paper; many reams later with the midnight oil burning Tasting to Eternity was born and self published.
I believe cheese and wine lovers should be told about this publication.
Enjoy.
