Ooh La Love: Le Rock et Roll

So you’re a little tired of songsters selling out more than just their concerts, all these molded pop stars are making you yawn.
Though Nelly Fergie Furtado’s abs in her new single are a work of art, it can be refreshing to hear that rare bird, a Real Rock Band, sing its little heart out.
Msr41 is a fan of the Real Rock Band specimen The Raconteurs: “Kick ass rock and roll made for the sake of making good music.”
Le shocking.
While I haven’t heard The Raconteurs - I live under a rock, housed in a shoebox, nestled in a closet full of vintage mink and beaded cocktail dresses - I’m not a fan of and his supposedly solid songwriting supported by gimmicky peppermint outfits and tabloid drama of the ex-wife/faux sister bandmate.
Do I ramble?
Would you prefer me “Heavy. Hard. Driving. Intense. Angry. Loud,” as ESH describes Rage Against the Machine by Rage Against the Machine?
I prefer my politics waxed Anglo and kind of ’80s, via London Calling by The Clash. ESH digs it too: “Classic British hard rock, punk, reggae, rockabilly… From 1979 but still fresh today; I know because I was just intruduced to this album.”
Maybe Democrats and Republicans and everyone in between should just Clap Your Hands Say Yeah; I smell world peace and “love? After seeing them twice, once at the Troubador and once at the El Rey, the answer is unequivocally, ‘Yes,’ ” says our Alyson, “Right down to their yellow country teeth.”
Charming.
Sir Bono makes my little organ called a heart go pitter-patter, U2 is such solid talent.
“No comment,” says Initium founder Darin Dennee about U2’s The Joshua Tree.
Fine, we’ll move along. Many musos before me have gone on about hip-hop being culturally what rock once was, and I’ll agree, if only to drop The Black Album. Simply the sound of genius, our Liz Barker says “If I didn’t have Jay-Z, life would be so much less good.”
Yep, I can hardly imagine a life less “money, cash, hoes” chorusing in the background.
Maybe I should check Alright, Still by Lily Allen, who’s “black hip hop meets English chick,” describes Joanne Wilson.
Ooh la love, sounds fascinating. Like Jay-Z and Kate Moss had a love child together? I could dig it. Jay-Z did collab with Coldplay’s Chris Martin a few weeks ago, leaving Music Slut to comment, “Err… we don’t know what to make of this!”
Totally fine. Maybe Pandora Internet Radio can decide for you, as it’ll choose new music for you, and “allow you to rate if you like the music that has been picked,” describes Morticya33.
