A Dutch charity organisation, ” Cordaid Mensen in Nood (People in Need) has this interesting campaign. It shows people in need posing with what some of us consider important and necessary. The designer handbag which costs 32 pounds is being compared to the price of food for a week: 4 pounds. Sunglasses cost 24 pounds while access to water is 8 pounds, after shave is 35 pounds, and the basics for a new  home only cost 6.50 pounds. A pint of beer costs 4.50 pounds while 50 litres of fresh water cost 1.50 pounds. I am not sure what the main purpose of the campaign was, but I was moved by the facts. Anyway appreciate more what you have, because you never know what the next person is lacking. You decide if ‘Swedish fashion photographer Carl Stolz./Mensen in Nood’ went too far with this pictures…..

I love this and think it is one of the smartest ad campaigns I've ever seen. Now lets convert it to US currency for all of us greedy Americans who simply MUST have it all!

I heard today of an house for sale in the UK, $140Million so don't talk about the Americans as being the only ones who "must have it all"
I don't see many other peoples working in undeveloped or underdeveloped countries.
I don't hear of many other countries fighting the war on terror with the sons and daughters in harm's way in Afghanistan, Iraq, etc.
Many of the starving peoples of the world are that way because of their corrupt and vicious, uncaring governments.
So rather than go after the "rich Americans" create a useful campaign to go after the governments of the poor and downtrodden.
I am not rich, I don't own any designer stuff. But I try to keep a reasonable balance with what is appropriate and right.

I am suprised you don't find this "hot" considering this person is thin *not by choice obviously* but you downgraded Mandy Moore for having meat on her, I'm just schocked that you don't want all of america to be this thin!!!

I think this is great! I know someone who recently paid $2000.00 for a Channel bag, but told me, "You know I really wanted it but I think I'm going to return it because it's so stupid really" Most people where I live haven't got a clue how little it costs to make a difference to someone else's life. That's why this is so great it shows the costs of water, housing, food etc. by comparision.

I really like this campaign
I think that it is succesful and it will continue to be
becaus the ad is very catchy
and easy
not too much to read
it gives u all the time to think about the goals of the ad
I didn't even have to ask anybody or make any research
I knew that it was a campaign
Congratulations
