Video games that will be denting my wallet

Posted Tuesday, August 14, 2007 at 09:15AM

They say good things come in in threes, but if you’re a hardcore video gamer this holiday shopping season, things come in tens. Why do publishers feel the need to inundate us with so many awesome choices all at once? Do they have any respect for my time and money? NO! They want it spent all at once. Thankfully, there’s going to be a lot of quality gaming going on to help me sooth the pain of an empty wallet and a long credit card bill.

Blue Dragon — It’s an anime-style Japanese RPG on the Xbox 360. It’s about darn time.

Heavenly Sword — a sexy heroine doing battle with hordes of baddies using her giant sword. Yes, please.

Army of Two — you and a buddy fighting for cash while strapping on massive guns. It’s a buddy cop movie in the making.

Eternal Sonata — beautiful graphics, classical music, and some RPG goodness. People will be saying Final Fantasy what?

Metroid Prime 3: Corruption — everbody loves Samus, and she’s back. Although this time on the Wii.

Super Mario Galaxy — Mario goes beyond global and gets even more love on the Wii. It’sa me!

Maddeon 08 — It’s a Madden game. It’s got Quarterback Vince Young on the cover. It’s a no brainer.

Mass Effect — outer space RPG goodness that send you into outer space. Start the countdown.

BioShock — an entirely realized underwater world that feels retro, vintage, and scary as hell.

Halo 3 — the biggest item on the list, and probably one of the most highly anticipated games … ever. Get it.
