Where it's (sort of) at

Beck’s always conjured up a whole lotta mixed reactions for me. My first time seeing him live was so boring that one of my friends fell asleep mid-set, while my second Beck show was so awesome that the whole crowd was screaming their lungs out and dancing like crazy for nearly two hours. Apparently other music lovers feel just as conflicted about the perpetual weirdo-manchild: “Beck is an artist I always have trouble nailing down and categorizing and I’m comforted that it seems I’m not the only one,” says esh. “I can recommend The Information after listening to it once, but I find that, though I enjoyed it, I don’t remember much about what I just heard.” Msr41, meanwhile, dubs Beck’s latest an “awesome album,” but notes that it’s “not his best ever” (it’s still “damn good” though, he adds). And despite the fact that I’m not all about The Information, I kind of can’t resist its lead single, “Cellphone’s Dead” - download the classically Beck track over at Comfort Music.
