Who is Miss Meghan?

After a successful run as a marketing consultant on Wall Street, it was time for Miss Meghan to pursue her life-long obsession with shoes. Now we know her as America’s Shoe Expert, a shoe therapist and doyenne, the fashion authority of all things shoe. From her hit television show Shoe Therapy ™ on the Home Shopping Network, to her podcast series Shoe are You?™ on iTunes, thousands of women across the globe pour out their shoe stories to learn key tips and strategies on finding the latest shoes. When Miss Meghan isn’t dispensing celebrity shoe secrets and teaching us how to walk in stilettos, she can be found rounding up the latest finds on ThisNext. We caught up with this ‘sole therapist’ for the latest trends in the shoe department.
TN: Any sneak previews you can share with ThisNext readers?
MM: Well, I can say that there is a very hot ankle boot we’ll be featuring on the debut of my new show on Home Shopping Network on the 20th (8 p.m.). It is a patent bootie with a suede cuff that has this super sexy slit up the front. Is very eighties but with a cool modern heel. I looove it! And keep tuning in to my show Shoe Therapy on HSN because we are going to be bringing people some really hot shoes this fall and Winter and a lot of hilarious surprises.
TN: Biggest response a blog post of yours has received from consumers?
MM: We got a lot of response from my Shoe are You? podcast with Jason and Randy Sklar — they have a huuuge following and the podcast was so hilarious, I practically stopped interviewing because I was just laughing so hard. You can check it out here or on iTunes.
TN: The product that’s had the biggest influence on your writing and shoe philosophy?
MM: There’s not really been one product per se — mostly it has been the shoes that have captured my heart over the years, from the baby blue wedge espadrilles with embroidery I longed for when I was 5, to the sparkly red Dries van Noten slingbacks I used as a table centerpiece because I couldn’t bear to put them on the ground, to my silver grey python Azzedine Alaia pumps that have practically been attached to my feet since I bought them!!!
TN: If you were a shoe, you’d be a ________.
MM: Oh!! that is so hard. Can I get back to you?
TN: Your favorite product discovery in the last six months… Or something that inspired you?
MM: I have been obsessed with PBS lately and get totally inspired by their music documentaries — there was one on Mamas and Papas and one on Stax Records — two totally different genres of music but both about people who are so passionate about what they do and so willing to just go for it, no matter what.
TN: Most prized possession?
MM: Topaz necklace from my sweet sixteen that my parents gave me.
TN: A product love secret you’re too embarrassed to share?
MM: Johnson & Johnson Baby Powder with cornstarch and lavender— I use it in my hair!
TN: Name an item under your bed?
MM: Fuzzy shearling slippers with pink bows and kitten heels.
TN: Something in your closet that is not apparel, shoes, bags, etc.?
MM: Tide and my yoga mat.
TN: Fav trend for summer?
MM: Dresses in bright, super saturated colors — teal blue, rust orange …
TN: Least fav trend for summer?
MM: Flip flops with a fancy suit — NO!
TN: Can’t leave home without my______?
MM: Burt’s Bees lip balm.
TN: City or suburbs?
MM: City.
TN: Loft or the perfect house with the white picket fence?
MM: Loft.
TN: Flip-flops or sneakers?
MM: Neither? Ballet flat?
TN: Coffee or tea?
MM: Coffee.
