Actually, you’re not. In fact, the people who contribute to ThisNext are incredible generous to give their time and energy to recommend interesting products and to create meaningful posts.
Here’s the kicker, there are some folks out there who don’t get “it.” They don’t see the benefit to recommending products to the community. They don’t understand what it is you (yeah, you) personally GET out of participating on ThisNext. They think because there is no incentive (read: cash money per post) that it’s a waste of time.
I say, what happened to the common good? What happened to experiencing satisfaction from knowing you might have helped someone else and discovered something new in the process? Have we grown so cynical that unless it’s lining our pockets there is no reason for doing it?
What do you say ThisNext? If ever you were to reply to a blog entry, let it be now. We need to hear WHAT is personally motivating and satisfying about being part of ThisNext (or any community you invest time.) This way, the next time someone says…”I don’t get it…” we have a forum to point them to.
