Rockstar by Belkin
Posted Saturday, January 19, 2008 at 09:55AMOn display at this year’s CES and MacWorld was the ‘Rockstar’ as its being dubbed by Belkin. This unique hub enables you to share your music with up to five people. Did I mention that you can also mix music. It connects into a combination of Mp3 players and headphones, just attach your headphones and you can hear your friends taste in music by accessing their playlist. You can also add another ipod to mix songs and listen to music together.

Since most teenagers use their ipods together, Belkin thought that the hub would make their experience more interesting. The ‘Rockstar’ will be available in the U.S. starting March 2008, and April in Canada, Europe, Asia and Australia. The hub features five ports to attach headphones or MP3 players, One hard-wired connection for your MP3 player, and an included cable to attach another MP3 player. Mixing and fade-ins controlled by the standard controls of each MP3 player.

iRiver e-book Tablet with handwritting abiities
Posted Thursday, January 17, 2008 at 11:59AMUnfortunately I was unable to make it to this years C.E.S (Consumer Electronic Show), but the folks over at SlashGear made it. One of the gadget on display at the iRiver booth was the iRiver e-Book Tablet. The Tablet looks like a normal notepad, and features amazing capabilities like: handwriting, drawing, and picture importing. It also supports images and handwritten text.

For now this might just be a concept, but its future seems bright. One day it might serve as an eco-friendly product by replacing regular paper, and also substituting the services offered by very expensive Tablet PCs

Vital Signs Monitoring System
Posted Sunday, July 1, 2007 at 10:26AMMedical staff can now take and record a patients vital signs, without the work load that comes with regular checking and recording of vital signs using the manual system. (blood pressure machine, thermometer, and O2Sat and Pulse Machine). First a manual reading is taken for future reference with future readings. Then whenever new vital signs are needed, the patient is informed through a light vibration.
The patient then swipes the temperature sensor located on the bottom of the monitor, across his/her forehead for a temperature reading. The blood pressure/pulse sensor on the inside of the monitor on the wrist, is then activated. Both sensors collect the data they obtain, and send it wirelessly to a paperless charting system that records and logs patients vital signs. I am not sure if the Vital monitoring system is just a concept or it’s available for sale.
