More Details on the iPhone and a Spoof that shows Downside of its' TouchScreen

Posted Friday, June 22, 2007 at 09:02AM
apple-Iphone.jpg
On Monday via a press release, Apple finally revealed details pertaining to it’s most anticipated gadget, the iPhone: the battery life contrary to what was reported earlier is, 8 hours of talk time and 24 hours of audio playback, which according to Jobs is longer than any other smartphone and even some Mp3 players. Pricing will be $499 for the 4GB, and $599 for the 8GB. It will be compatible with both Mac and PC. Due to some issues with the nano screen, the iPhone will spot a 3.5 inch screen with optical clarity and higher resistance to scratch.

This Spoof shows the Downside of the iPhone’s TouchScreen: Watch the Video Here!!!

The following are the Disadvantages of a TouchScreen:- fingerprints left due to natural oils found in your skin, Scratches created accidentally by long nails……esp fake ones, and a side face print cross-section is etched on the TouchScreen, unless you use a bluetooth headset. I wonder why Apple didn’t include a stylus with the iPhone, maybe it will be unleashed later. I won’t be surprised if someone comes up with the following iPhone accessories: iCloth, iStylus and iWipes.”

Levi is mostly known for classic signature blue denim jeans, but it has decided to follow in the foot steps of other fashion power houses including: Prada, Gucci, Versace, and D&G. Yep!…Levi will be launching a cell phone next week in the fashion capital of France, Paris. Although the actual release date is in September. “I wonder if it will be encrusted in denim material.” Little is known about the specs of the phone, but it will feature a 2mega pixel camera, 1.8 inch screen, bluetooth capabilities, Mp3 player and a micro SD slot.

On Wednesday April 25th, Samsung unveiled the Symbian OS smartphone SGH-i400 in Spain. It features: full web browsing and bluetooth capabilities, supports extensive language, is equipped with a 2 mega pixel camera, has a 2.3” wide display, and you can listen to music through its stereo dual speakers. It will be available in Russia from July 2007, then expand to other European countries, am not sure if/when it will be available here in the U.S. (we usually end up with crappy phones, and the nice ones go to Asia and Europe).

More APPLE for all day, every day

Posted Wednesday, January 10, 2007 at 07:46AM

Oh boy, oh boy.  The day we’ve all been waiting for has dawned.  Apple is going mobile with the iPhone, and TV is getting sexier with Apple TV.

While the iPhone isn’t out just yet, already ThisNexters are salivating excited about the possibilities of this sleek, multifunctional little cell phone which promises to “completely redefine what you can do on a mobile phone.”

JaHaute says the Apple iPhone is “sleek and cute. I’m so sorry for the other phone companies.”

And while asharfin loves the touch screens, “The more applications a gadget has, the more I get to touch the screen, which is why I LOVE THE NEW iPHONE!!” Kristopher Dukes is all about the style, “And here your K thought nothing more smartly spelled S-E-X for a boss lady than a very little black dress and skyscraper heels.”

Check out Engadget’s full report and fabulous pictures of Apple’s announcement with details on how the magic will work.

In the meantime, Alyson and I are pretty into Apple’s other announcement, AppleTV. According to Engadget (which is covering everything Mac right now),

Not just one, two or three but five computers can connect to the Apple TV box, making a true hub for all your PCs. You can watch content stored on your rig — movies, TV shows, photos, etc. — and you can also pull streaming vid directly off sites like…Apple.com! Plus, the box will even grab content from PCs outside of your house — finally, we can watch all the great swag that our rich friends can afford. Interested? You’ll be able to grab one immediately for $299.

Will the iPhone and AppleTV be the new revolution we’ve been waiting for? Only time will tell.

MYSTIC

Posted Friday, September 1, 2006 at 03:09AM
thatphone.pngXzanderX picked this up and coming Sony Ericsson W950i. Before we gush over how much we might want this phone - lets just get the big question out of the way. MYSTIC PURPLE? as the only color it comes in? Perhaps i have less of a problem with the color, more with the name… “hey have you seen my mystic purple new phone?  it has 4 gigs built in…” Just seems a bit odd sounding. I feel like it should tell my fortune and predict the future with a color name like that. But ok ok, enough about that - he stickered the phone h0tt and i can’t disagree with him - between the 4 gigs internal, the “advanced digital music player”, touch screen, and the flushed keypad (no bumps) - what’s not to drool over? It’s not out yet, but coming soon to select markets.

Hang up and drive

Exactly how bad is talking on your cell phone while driving? A new study from the University of Utah found that chatty motorists are just as dangerous as drunk drivers, according to Ergonomics in the News. The blog, which shows readers how to get ergonomically healthier in the workplace and beyond, reports that drunk drivers and cell talkers have a comparable risk of ending up in an accident. So even though it may be tempting as all get-out to start dialing when you’re stuck in gridlock, best to keep the talk to whatever’s on talk radio or coming from those oh-so-charmingly loquacious DJs babbling away between songs.

Triple Watch Cell Phone

What’s more fun than shopping? Anticipating what’s coming up next perhaps? Like in the cell phone genre, what features, what new toys, what colors will you hope to find next? Here’s a design concept i found over at the Mobile Fanatic:

“The Triple Watch Cell Phone can slide out of the wristwatch band and triple-flip into a normal cell phone. When it is in wrist watch mode, it has a speaker phone button that allows the user to answer the phone and hang up while driving. Another feature is the ability to hook up tBluetoothth headset to talk without taking the phone out of the watch.”

So, your purse just too heavy, or too small for carrying BOTH the digicam and cell phone? Well you’re in luck, since Samsung and Verizon have officially teamed up to provide the first cell phone with a 3.2 megapixel camera in America. A more usable camera on the phone, whether you’re a social picture taker, a voyeur, or you just want to have the latest tech in your hand… ThisNext knows this will somehow end up on someone’s list here. Found this newsbyte over at Gazotto.

Is your cellphone so cool its on ice? Ok that was bad, I know, but that’s what it looked like to me when I first saw that picture. Ok, but seriously, here is the Gigabyte g-Smart i120 Phone - with 2.0 megapixel camera, 64 MB RAM, 256 MB ROM, with bluetooth and IR. Best part? It has a 2.4” QVGA display, TV tuner, and FM tuner… and this is only one of many fab finds over at the British consumer oriented blog, GizmoGuy.
