Fresh Prince of Bel Air X Puma Collabos ...
Posted Thursday, February 28, 2008 at 08:53PMLately Puma has been doing collaborations with almost everybody. This time they have teamed up with The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air for a two pack series of sneakers. I can’t believe the show is still running on major TV channels. Anyway in the show will move from Philly to Bel-Air, and it seems like the sneakers are based on both cities.
The first one on the left is the West Philly First Round Pack: The sneakers feature graffiti shown at the beginning of the show, and the pack includes a fluorescent green agitation watch.
The Bel-Air Clyde Pack on the other hand is made of high quality Italian crocodile skin leather highlighted with gold colors. A Gold forcer watch is included in this pack. Both packs will be available in May 17th 2008 (via)

Nike Sneakers with Collapsible heels (convertible)
Posted Tuesday, July 10, 2007 at 09:01PM
We all know how hard it is to quickly put on your laced-up sneakers. Personally am lazy, thats why I prefer slip-ons to laced shoes. Anyway Sofie Collin has a solution to all your creased-up heels sneakers. She had designed this ‘Nike sneakers With Collapsible Heels.’ The sneakers have no laces and can be quickly convert ‘drop top’ style into clogs. Functional yet fashionable. I am not sure if they are available for sale, or this is just a concept. Anyway to see how hard it is to deal with laced-up shoes watch the video below: “This very instructional video shows you how to tie a knot that can’t be untied and has to be cut (via complex.com).”

Marc by Marc Jacobs Converse
Posted Tuesday, July 3, 2007 at 08:24AMLooks like Marc-y Marc Jacobs went Single White Female on Chuck Taylor:
Marc by Marc Jacobs’ Converses canvas baseball boots are an unglossy, boss black that shadow the classic sneaker, echoing the timeless design while lacing up to the ankle, sealing themselves with a subtle circle.
And though the sneaks snuck below their original $295 tag at Net-a-Porter’s summer sale, they’re still a buck-seventy-five. Which means they’re cheaper than a keychain by Monsieur Louis.
But if a girly girl’s paying that much for flats, for shoes sans an artful arch, they ought to magically stretch your legs long like Giselle’s. Or at least be stamped gold with “MARC JACOBS,” so people know why you’re wearing ugly sneaks.

Pappa's Day: Emma Hope Mock Croc Sneakers
Posted Monday, June 4, 2007 at 07:50AMA cheeky chic twist on a classic, Emma Hope’s croc hi-tops are sneakers I could feel good about buying, about gifting Dad.
Croc is for Dad who taught me to be thick-skinned, black is a shade close to the sense of humor he shared with me, and a squeaky clean sole is how he hoped I’d keep mine.

Though I just found out these sneaks are NOT made out of real crocodile. What with my loving animals more than PETA—
That could be a deal breaker.

Creative Recreation's Don Carlo
Posted Saturday, June 2, 2007 at 08:46PM
With a name like “Don Carlo,” this slip-ons from creative recreation will scare your feet, and still give you mobster status. They look light and comfortable. Ideal for your “mob stroll” this summer. Creative recreation also has some in black and white with a chain design. Pocket damage $115

Long may you run
Posted Wednesday, January 31, 2007 at 10:46AMEndurance runners - as well as vegetarians who follow a low-protein diet - may have lower blood levels of a hormone linked to pre-menopausal breast cancer, prostate cancer, and certain types of colon cancer, according to a recent study from the Washington University School of Medicine. Though the study’s endurance runners averaged about 48 miles per week, lesser amounts of pavement-pounding (or treadmill- or trail-running) can still enhance your health by burning fat, protecting against muscle and bone loss, and providing a stellar cardiovascular workout.
Before you get all speedy with your feet, check to make sure you’ve got all the essentials for a safe and satisfying run. Your shoes, for instance, should provide good traction, shock absorption, and stability. Socalrunnergirl loves her Women’s Gel-Nimbus VII Running Shoe by Asics, which are “super comfortable” and “work great if you have higher arches like I do.” Alyson digs the Gel-Nimbus VII as well, noting that “for runners with a fairly neutral gait, these tennies provide excellent support and cushioning.” Meanwhile, Three and Steve Romeo prefer Vasque AMP Trail Running Shoes, which the latter deems “relatively lightweight, yet very stable [with] a great tread pattern for grip.”

Sneaker Freaker
Posted Monday, September 18, 2006 at 12:16PM
Though I’d rather hump some pumps than freak some sneaks
- Forgive me, that was terrible. So, so terrible I’m leaving it -
a hot pair of sneakers is classic street chic.
Check these Kim Jones sneakers, discovered via Sneaker Freaker. With Bottega Veneta-esque woven leather and classic Converse-like cut, if the spice formerly known as Posh had a love child with Kanye West, it’d rock these.

Pretty power
Posted Tuesday, August 8, 2006 at 08:56PMIs wearing pink running shoes way too girly-girl? Who cares - we’re psyched that New Balance’s upcoming line of 767s (due at holiday time) will feature a very lovely pink sneaker. It’ll be something like this…

…only with about 100 times more pretty power.
Thanks to Dawn on the Run for letting us know what to add to the top of our Christmas list.

A shoe-in
Posted Monday, August 7, 2006 at 10:48PMIn the name of “a little Friday fun,” Common Man Syndrome last Friday asked his readers to vote for their favorite running shoe of all time. We were expecting the responses to be Asics all over the place (the blogger himself loves Asics Gel-Cumulus), but the comments are surprisingly varied. A few of note: Chris digs Mizuno Wave Rider VIIIs, Kewl Nitrox is into the New Balance 766, and Flatman’s current “weapon of choice” is Saucony’s Grid Cohesion (below).

How Jerry Seinfeld Did, Only Stylish
Posted Thursday, August 3, 2006 at 12:39PM
Rock these white sneaks with a suit and we’re afraid you’ll no longer be making a statement.
Or at least the statement you’ll make will be more “I’m super chic” (only phrased much more masculinely and carelessly) versus the opposite thereof.
Bloggers find the darnedest things.

Our shopcasting network exists because sometimes cowboy boots are still calling to you, but you really need a new pair of sneaks.

Who loves Asics?
Posted Monday, July 31, 2006 at 02:08PMConfirming our suspicion that all running bloggers are crazy for Asics, two more have joined the gel-cushioned ranks. First there’s Shore Turtle, who just picked up a new pair of Asics Nimbus VIIs (shown below). And then there’s Yumke at A Whole Lot of Soles, proud owner of the Asics GT-2110 (for marathon-training) and the Gel-Nimbus VIII.
The rampant Asics love is probably best illustrated by one of Shore Turtle’s commenters, who chimes in: “I LOVE my Asics, I think I want to buy a whole crate of them because they’re just so comfy!”

Theory of evolution
Posted Sunday, July 23, 2006 at 08:02PMPlucked from the impeccably curated selection of shoes at Momentum in Chicago, The Out of Shape Guy’s new Asics Gel-Evolution IIs quickly won him over with their super support and amazing feel. Living up to their first impression, the ultra-durable shoes helped give the blogger one of his best runs “in a very long time,” no doubt having to do with that fantastic gel cushioning system.

Get your kicks
Posted Thursday, July 20, 2006 at 09:08PMBridgette at Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind is psyched about her new Pearl Izumi TRI-R2s, a shoe designed just for triathletes. Ultra-breathable and compatible with most petal systems, the sneaker features a seamless mesh upper and ventilated toe cap. Not to mention the supersleek silver, which makes us swoon with shoe envy.

Asics love
Posted Monday, July 10, 2006 at 08:55PMAlthough Mis_nomer’s post about her brand-new Asics GT-2110s is giving me serious shoe envy — love that gel cushioning — we wish her much luck in training for Mizuno Wave Run (a 10K later this month), the Army Half (a half-marathon at the end of August), and a marathon at the beginning of December. Three cheers for super-ambitious race action in awesome new kicks.
