Cuckoo for coconut water
Posted Monday, February 5, 2007 at 01:26PMEver since LIME let us know that coconut water makes for a groovy sports drink, we’ve been quite curious about the flavor factor of this Gatorade alternative. Now thanks to John and Rose’s pick of Zico Pure Coconut Water, we feel much assured that those cute little blue juiceboxes are worth stashing in your gym bags. A “refreshing change from the regular H20,” Zico is available in natural flavor, mango, passionfruit, and orange peel. The drink “contains five essential electrolytes and more potassium than a banana,” John and Rose add. What’s more, it’s got “no fat, no added sugar, no cholesterol.” The duo recommend serving your coconut water “chilled, as a sports drink or as an ingredient in smoothies or cocktails” - check the product’s website for some very yummy-sounding recipes for Zico-infused mojitos and martinis.

Nature’s sports drink
Posted Friday, June 30, 2006 at 12:46PM
It might be time to give up the Gatorade. LIME’s latest fitness find is Zico, a coconut water that packs five essential electrolytes — potassium, sodium, magnesium, calcium, and phosphorus - and more potassium than what’s found in 15 sports drinks on the market. Added bonus for natural health-nuts: There’s no added sugar or artificial coloring. ThisNext loves discovering cool new products to replace the tired old standbys, especially when they make us look very cool and in-the-know at the local gym.
