Reebok Timetanium Ventilator

John Maeda is a graphic designer, a computer scientist, a MIT professor and the author of Laws of Simplicity. Now he has teamed up with Reebok for a new sneaker that brings together mathematical aspects, technology and nature. The sneaker, dubbed the ‘Timetanium ventilator’ looks like a myriad of graphics layered upon each other, but there is more to the madness; John has handwritten a code on the insole and lining of the sneaker, and the graphics generated from this code make up an interesting design on the exterior of the shoe.

The code creates a complex colorful design on the heel that transitions into a simpler, linear design towards the toe. The collaboration was aimed at bringing art and science together. The Reebok Timetanium will be exclusively available on Reebok’s customization website, and will be limited to 100 pairs fro $150.00. Shipping began yesterday. (via)

You can watch the video of John and Reebok discussing their creation here>>

Over the weekend, Nike kept it’s tradition going by releasing Halloween theme sneakers. The package though didn’t include the very famed Air Force 1s, but instead contained two different styles of sneakers: Court Force and the Air Max 95 x 360. Both sneakers are made of patent leather, and feature safari style print & 4 colors. They will surely attract attention, especially if worn after Halloween. (You might look like a walking rainbow). The second set of sneakers that I rounded-up, are the Alife Rain Pack & the Lumber Jack Pack. AlifeNYC has been creating a lot of buzz with their bold colored sneakers and collaborations with big companies like Nike. The Rain Pack consists of an ‘Everybody Hi,’ and an Everybody Flood Supreme. Both sneakers are available in yellow colorways, and looks like they are made from a water resistant material- maybe similar to the one used in raincoats. (via)

The Lumber Jacks are available in an ‘Everybody Hi,’ and ‘Everybody Lo’. Both sneakers feature uppers that are entirely dipped in Red and Black LumberJack. The sneakers are available at alifenyc.

They include Superman, Batman, Flash and Wonder Woman. Their colorways are inspired by the super hero’s costume. They will be available sometime this month.
